5 VITAL LESSONS THE YOUTHS CAN LEARN FROM YOLO TV SERIES - by Sir Article.

I saw this interesting piece written by Sir Article and I decided to share it with you today. YOLO TV series which gained popularity among the youth has arguably impacted a lot ever since its inception.

YOLO does not only seek to entertain but also to inform, educate and also put to bare some of the negative actions which threatens the youth — our choices have consequences – You Only Live Once! Don’t do anything you will regret!

A chunk of young people in Ghana are literally engrossed in YOLO TV Series, arguably the foremost youth oriented television drama in our nation. In fact, it is my most favourite TV series at the moment, because it has really educated me on pressing youth issues in an absolutely fascinating way. If I had the chance to choose between watching YOLO and UEFA Champions League Final, I would avidly watch YOLO and forget the UEFA match.

Moreover, the Daily Guide once published that, “YOLO [is] a professionally pieced television drama series from the stables of Ivan Quarshiga’s Farmhouse Productions… It is a sequel to ‘Things We Do For Love,’ the popular television drama that held the nation spellbound during the late 90’s and 2000’s.” And as a Ghanaian youth who actually adores YOLO TV Series, I hereby present 5 vital lessons the youths can learn from it.

(1) Promiscuity is completely wrong:

Drogba or Bro. Charles, one of my favourite characters, is depicted as promiscuity personified who also flaunts his sexually immoral abilities. Unfortunately, he got exposed to an STI and other sexually related troubles like unwanted pregnancy etc. Therefore, let us shun promiscuity because it is ungodly.

(2) Peer pressure is real, so tread cautiously:

It is almost impossible to terminate all your friendships all in the name of avoiding bad peer pressure. We all have the Drogba figure among our friends who entice us to be naughty. But we can ignore their corrupt way of life and safeguard our personal integrity.

(3) It is good to be a socialiser:

Some are born introverts and some are born extroverts. However, it is quite good to be a socialiser even if you are an introvert, because it will enable you to appreciate and understand a variety of youthful lifestyles. Ha-ha, Cyril, a very timid boy, learnt more about relationship with the opposite sex by hanging out with his friends such as Drogba, George and the like.

(4) Be enlightened on adolescent reproductive health issues:

I believe that ignorance is the greatest disease on earth since it enslaves a multitude of people on a daily basis. I love Emily, Cyril's sweetheart, because she is enlightened on adolescent reproductive health issues unlike most of her wayward female friends. We are all advised to seek knowledge about adolescent reproductive health issues in order to be safe and secure.

(5) Manage your own relationship smartly:

Cyril and Emily handle their untoward relationship issues in a smart manner, to tell the truth. They both apply intelligence when dealing with each other as romantic partners now. This tells us that we ought to be perceptive in our individual relationships, and treat them cleverly.

Hodor proved unyielding loyalty does exist in Westeros when Wylis gave the ultimate sacrifice for Bran and Meera. Kristian Nairn maintained his character was free of resentment: "He doesn’t have that emotion. I don’t think he's very fond of the warging, but he sees the bigger picture," Nairn said. The Super Sport version of the Veyron is the fastest street-legal production car in the world, with a top speed of 431 km/h (268 mph). The original version has a top speed of 408.47 km/h (253.81 mph). It was named Car of the Decade (2000–2009) by the BBC television programme Top Gear. The standard Veyron won Top Gear’s Best Car Driven All Year award in 2005.

The transmission is a dual-clutch direct-shift gearbox computer-controlled automatic with seven gear ratios, with magnesium paddles behind the steering wheel and a shift time of less than 150 milliseconds, built by Ricardo of England rather than Borg-Warner, who designed the six speed DSG used in the mainstream Volkswagen Group marques.

The Veyron can be driven in either semi- or fully automatic mode.

It uses special Michelin PAX run-flat tyres, designed specifically to accommodate the Veyron’s top speed, which cost US$25,000 per set. The tyres can be removed from the rims only in France, a service which costs US$70,000. Curb weight is 1,888 kilograms (4,162 lb). This gives the car a power-to-weight ratio, according to Volkswagen Group’s figures, of 446.3 metric horsepower (328 kW; 440 bhp) per ton.

The Bugatti Veyron has a total of ten radiators.

I Don't know M.anifest And Sarkodie - Asiedu Nketia Says (A Must Watch VIDEO)

The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has expressed shock over reports that he is backing rapper M.anifest in his beef with Sarkodie.

Reports on social media and some blogs indicate that General Mosquito as Asiedu Nketia is known and called has described the beef as Tom and Jerry cartoon fight.

According to the report, the NDC scribe explained that “M.anifest the son of astute lawyer Tsatau Tsikata is as intelligent as his father, no two ways about it, the gentleman is an intellectual, more than a mere rapper among his peers and there is no way Opana who only brags can compare himself to him even the deaf and dumb knows that”.

“The blind does not need to look into a mirror to confirm he is blind,” he is quoted as saying.

Reacting to this on Asempa FM Wednesday, the politician denied ever making any comment about Sarkodie or M.anifest.

“What is called M.anifest…I don’t know anyone by name Manifest and I don’t know anyone by name Sarkodie too…I don’t know them…is it the manifest they look on to write people’s names for them to board planes or what..?” he responded sarcastically to the question of whether indeed he said those things about Sarkodie.

A manifest is a document listing a ship's contents, cargo, passengers, and crew, for the use of customs officers. It includes a list of passengers or cargo in an aircraft.

The NDC scribe further said that he had no idea why people would want to claim he is a lover of rap music when clearly he is not a fan of hiplife genre of music.

He claimed he has never been interested in rap music because he hardly hears and understands the lyrics in them.

“Have I not been telling you the kinds of music I like, I love Adowa and Yaa Asantewaa kind of music…the songs by Ampofo Adjei, Konadu and even Reggae…if you want to know my friends then they are Naa Konadu whose funeral I even attended, Adofo and Amakye Dede…,” he said.

According to Asiedu Nketia, he became their promoter at a point in time when he was finding things difficult in life.

Eirene Binabiba also joins the list of past Malaika queens as she won the crown in 2014. Miss. Binabiba is currently the face of several beauty and hair brands as well as a commercial model with several billboards across the nation. She handed over to the current Miss Malaika 2015, Kuukua Korsah who will hand over the crown to a new queen in a few months

Miss Malaika has been produced by Charterhouse since 2003 when it first aired on TV. The show was primarily geared at picking a Ghanaian rep for the Pan-African pageant. After the show ended abruptly, the Ghanaian organizers continued with the show which has churned out 13 Queens and served as a platform for many of the girls who participated to get closer to their dreams in fashion, entertainment and modeling.

This is so funny! Watch Sister Derbie’s new ‘Ghana Jollof’ video featuring Wanlov

Singer Deborah aka Sister Derbie has released the video to her latest single Ghana Jollof, a controversial response to the on-going jollof beef between Ghana and Nigeria.

The song which was premiered on 4Syte TV was produced by Kuvie and compares the rice dish as prepared by Ghanaians and Nigerians. The whole point of the song is that Ghana jollof is better than that of Nigeria with Sister Derbie referring to it as being too white.


The funny video features her ever so controversial brother Wanlov among other men who represent Ghana and Nigeria.

 
Sister Derbie is no stranger to composing controversial songs. In 2012, she released Uncle Obama, a song about wanting to give one Mr Obama’s banana to her monkey. The song won her international acclaim, and an appearance on CNN.

Born Deborah Vanessa Owusu-Bonsu, Sister Derbie has also been involved in TV presenting, modelling and fashion designing.

Manifest seems to have taken leave of the Sarkodie "beef"

M.anifest seems to have let go of his alleged beef with Sarkodie. But not so lightly, the rapper has taken shots at the “king of Ghana rap” in his latest release.In a new song entitled, 100%, the godMC rapper features one of Ghana’s brightest upcoming musician in a Mobeatz production. His new song, however, fails to make mention of rapper Sarkodie with whom M.anifest had been engaged in an exchange of words with, in a lyrical battle for the “king of Ghana rap” throne.

The artiste did make mention of the supposed beef in the song, but instead of rather fueling the fight, he steps aside to suggest that he would not respond to Sarkodie‘s “bad riddim”.

The rapper, however, did claim that he was “chilling” and not “beefing” with anyone.
